One of two, you didn't provide the correct password or your Caps Lock is ON
and causing you to enter the wrong password ( all in Bold or Upper case
letters).
Try to contact Yahoo Help and support and they will help you.

my id and password are correct and i can get all the way to the room before
the alert pops up, caps is off also

Then it is your security on the browser or the Anti-Virus Pop-Up blocker,
try to configure them in the right way, but don't compromise your security.
