Album Art Problems

Hi I am organizing all my mp3 albums.

I use tag&rename to get all my tracks name and album art
and save the cover as folder.jpg and seems ok.

The problem is when the Allmusic.com does not have the
album cover, I go to amazon.com to get the cover and save
it to my mp3album folder as folder.jpg. Everything seems
fine and the cover show up but after 1 or 2 days,
something would override my folder.jpg to the generic
cover (the one with the music notes) on the album that do
not have album art.

This does not happen to all album but certain one, only
the one that do not have cover but has track listing in
allmusic.com.

It looks like windowmedia player is update the album
information for me automatically. I set the options to
update only missing information, so why do they override
by folder.jpg, is there any way to make the folder.jpg not
be overwritten?

Does anyone has this problems?

Thanks
..

.Yes, I have this problem also, except I'm using WMP v8
the XP version. I don't use the folder.jpg method. I
can't get it to work. I use the properties tab on the
folder and add picture.

I have not figured out any rhyme or reason why some
folders resort to the default icon. As you say it might
be 2 or 3 days later after adding the art. There's a
program bug somewhere in the system and I don't think this
is a big issue with the media player maintenance people.
I haven't seen any posting that has explained why this
happens or what may cause it.

I would like to see Microsoft address this problem and
provide a fix for it. The album art concept has far
reaching potential in that it could be the vehicle to
deliver not only the cover album, but the back cover and
all of the in-between stuff you get when you purchase an
album. e.i. additional photos, narratives and etc..

This would help a lot of people become more receptive to
the idea of purchasing music via downloads. I'm in to jazz
and classical and I want to know something about the
artist, composer, and players of the music I listening
to.

I've never had that problem with Tag&Rename, but then again, I don't use WMP
ever!
