"Alarm Siren" sound when plugging a Hard disk (!!!?)

Hi,

Could someone explain me how an old laptop Packard Bell Easy Note VX
can emit a high pitched sound like.. well... a house alarm system :-)
when plugging a hard disk IBM DADA-26480 immediately at power on ???
Sound very interesting ;-)
