AIW X800XT+ MMC 9.16 & Channel Surf = No sound on Previews?

Is this a bug, or am I the only one who has this issue? In Win2K with CAT
6.12 and MMC 9.08, previews have sound while they play back, but not with
CAT 7.1 and MMC 9.16. Can anyone try this and see if they get the same
issue?

I'm using XP, Cat7.1, and MMC9.16 with AIW9600XT&HDTV Wonder. Not getting
sound from previews on surfing screen with either analog tuners. Mostly use
analog with cable box so didn't notice. Does work with digital when it can
make a pass through the channels without crashing. Surfing is a neat trick
but never found it very useful.

Thanks for the response Captain, I'd hoped there was just something that I
missed upon setting it up, but I figured it was a busted feature. I've run
into so many strange problems with this version of MMC and it's really
starting to bug me. Something else I've been dealing with is, at around 10pm
until 12am, the TV starts having channel changing issues due to the Gemstar
software having issues with its listings.

I did something I normally don't. Installed 7.1 with only uninstalling
display drivers and CCC. Will have to do a total clean and reinstall. Not
for this problem but am randomly losing sound on digital TV(at least).
Changing channels brings it back but can't do that on recordings. Kind of
crazy since didn't change HDTV drivers and have the problem with another
digital TV program as well. Can only think it's a registry problem. Did you
do a complete reinstall of ATI software after installing 7.1?

AFAIK have Guide+ working but usually only use it late at night. So haven't
noticed that problem either. Only used it to record once.

I went ahead and ripped off everything ATI, using ATI's AtiCimUn.exe, then
Driver Cleaner, RegCleaner, and Regedit just to be sure everything ATI was
out. I searched my system for ATI folders and deleted them as well.

After all that, I reinstalled using 7.1/9.16 and it still behaves strangely.
I've thinking I might regress to an older MMC and see how that works out.

My system is a dual boot, Win2K being the other side. I used 6.2 and MMC
9.08 there and it seems to work well. I've not seen any of the craziness
I've seen on the XP side of things. I even had issues getting the Remote
Wonder II to install again on XP!
