MMC Version?

Question for all you bleeding-edge type: what's the latest version of MMC you'd
recommend for pubic consumption on a Radeon 9800 AIW? I'm running 9.08 and it's
MOSTLY stable, but does have its issues. I seem to recall reading that newer
versions force the "TV-on-demand" on by default and possibly even that this
behavior can't be disabled (I don't like that idea, it's too clunky). Any other
reasons NOT to upgrade? Any compelling reasons TO upgrade?

Latest installed driver set is from around the same time as that MMC release...
any good excuses whether I should or shouldn't upgrade that as well?

ATI is such a PITA with this full-uninstall BS for every little upgrade,
especially having to dig out my f'ng install CD to be able to reinstall the DVD
player... :p

Can't pause captures. Stick with 9.08.
You need to go back to 9.06.1 or up to 9.15(or so I've heard) to use Guide
Plus. Haven't tried it on 9.15 yet. If not for Multview with the AIW- HDTV
Wonder I'd go back, again.

GuidePlus does work on 9.08. Most of the time. Every now and then it glitches
and needs to be removed and reinstalled.

Nice card, this... too bad all the software is utter shyte.

ATI doesn't recommend it. I had problems with it. Removing entries from MMC
and Windows schedulers might be enough to clear it. Didn't really play with
it that much. YMMV

I can tell you from experiences I've had. First, I'm running their
Catalyst Control Center also, don't know if you are. I have an ATI
All-In-Wonder 9600XT on an ASUS P4P800 SE motherboard, with a 2.80 GHz
Pentium 4, 1Gbyte RAM and a Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 audio card . I've
downloaded, stored and tried these - Catalyst Control Center versions
6.2 through 6.8 and Multimedia Center versions 8.8 through 9.15. Now
the CCC 6.2 is the last version that uses WDM drivers, meaning you've
got to physically connect the ATI card to your sound card. All the
other CCC versions have ATI's Unified drivers which no longer require
the connection. I've tried all kinds of combos. Not every MMC works
with every CCC (or should I say the drivers included with each CCC).
After days of uninstalling and reinstalling I find the best combo for
me is CCC 6.2 and MMC 9.08. MMC 9.08 because MMC 9.13 and later TV
section will not allow me to get a few channels that I get with 9.08,
that and the fact that the whole on demand thing is such a pain, and
the CCC 6.2 with the old WDM drivers because the unified drivers kept
causing my PC to lock up during some game plays once in a while. I
don't have the problem with the old drivers. I don't know, maybe the
games I'm playing are too old. All the software is available at ATI's
web site, www.ati.com Here's a page to start at
