Airfix Dogfighter, how make joystick fly it?

George

Just installed Airfix Dogfighter on my WinXP-pro PC. It seems to work well,
except we can't get it to work with the JOYSTICK, it requires the keyboard
to fly it, and the none of the buttons on the joystick fly it or do
anything. Have tried. Options > Click Joystick > Apply < OK. Am using an
ATI Radion 9800 video card, and I think we have the latest version of
DirectX installed. The Logitech Wingman Extreme joystick tested perfectly
in control panel. Would appreciate suggestions.

(Also, anyone by chance know of a technical support phone number in the U.S.
or the U.K. that we could call to talk to a technician).

Thanks,
George

Thanks Chris,

It does seem there's a joystick patch. A patch with same name is at
http://www.paradoxplaza.com/downloads.asp

Tried the one at
http://www.avault.com/pcrl/patches_temp.asp?patch=airfix I'd but clicking
the patch oddly goes to an html page (and a download tries to save an html
file)

If doing something incorrectly here, or if know of other possible reliable
sources, would appreciate. If by slight chance the patch has a virus, do
you suppose McAfee would pick it up either on the download, or on the
install/launch? Thanks

You could download the file (select Save As) and not directly install it,
then run your AV against it to make sure. If you know the name of the file,
you could also do a search on www.google.com for other locations. Make sure
after you verify the file is okay to turn off the AV during the
installation.
