AIM Triton? MEMORY HOG?!

Why is aim6.exe using 46 MB of memory? Is it really that necessary to
send text messages over the internet. Google Talk uses only 4.3 MB
AHHH?!!!
 
Trillian only uses 6.5 meg on my w2k system with 768mb.
Thats a lot even for AOL IM. I used it for a time, but I couldn't stop it
from starting up, so I uninstalled it.
