AIM settings lost after re-boot

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I actually fixed this once but
have forgotten how I did it as I just came accross some setting that
sounded promising, and yes it did the job.... so I know there is an
easy fix. Anyway this is the story.

I am re-installing all my programs on a new install of XP Pro SP2,
using AIM ver 5.5. On my old XP install I had for ages put up with
losing all my settings for AIM every time I re-booted, I was losing my
username, password and preferences after every re-boot. Then I came
accross some setting somewhere that suddenly fixed the problem, but
now... I am faced with the same problem on my new XP install and can't
remember what I did to fix it before.

After logging in to AIM and setting up my preferences I can see them in
the registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\America
Online\Users\Screen-Name etc. If I log out and just log back in to AIM
all works fine, until I do a re-boot, then when I look at the registry
all the settings for that User_Name have dissapeared again!

When I check on my old XP install all is still working perfectly with
AIM, as since I found the now elusive fix my registry settings remain
intact.

I am thinking this is probably an XP setting and not an AIM setting, as
I have searched through the AIM settings without any luck.

Can anyone guide me in the right direction?
