Ah, it's Midsummer ...

Midsummer....Summer starts today the 21st, summer solstice the longest day..Lets hope the next 3 months will bring much sunshine and fun...:D

We should all be gambolling and frollicking at Stonehenge methinks

yes yes the Summer Solstice one of my favourite days of the year!

Lets all go to Stonehenge I pray for a clear blue sky all day!
And no lights untill 10pm in London!!!

Spent the weekend celebrating at the Estonian club in Bradford . Concert and bonfire and the esti band played till well after midnight . Fine food , good vodka and viru lager , dancing and pretty ladies , a good night was had by all .
Although the modern Janniohtu is celebrated on 23rd of june it has its roots in the ancient celebrations of the summer solstice .

Sounds like you had a great time - did you take part in any bonfire-leaping? If so, I hope you didn't get singed :p

Your Wiki link was very interesting, Mr Barbarian, I enjoyed reading about the origins of the celebration  :thumb:

I did everything according to tradition including shots of vodka with breakfast the next morning ;)

Midsummer be damned

I drove past Stonehenge on the way to the Glastonbury Festival last Wednesday and there were more nutters than usual in attendance ;)

Then, well, lots of rain and mud basically :(

And floods across the UK, resulting in at least 3 deaths.

Oh yes, Midsummer, bring it on...

Who me? A Cynic? Naaaaah..... :D

Summer... i remember that... I think

But last night I tipped up the tub with pringle's bathwater in it... & it were'nt going nowhere!
Had to break the ice to tip it out to change it.
This morning it was full of chunks of floating ice & big lumps of the stuff on the deck!
He'd obviously had a bath in it when it was iced over *brrrrr*
