hi all

I hve just spent an hour creating a form in excel, I have merged cells and
formated borders and cell sizes etc.

The problem I want to copy and paste the form underneath 15 times (for 15
pupils) but I loose all the cell size changes.

is there anyway of doing this ?

I have to create 15 pages that I can print out. Really it is just 15 copies
of the same form but I want to bring data in from another book.... I dread
to think about the work in aligning,combining and re-sizing the cells.

If you copy merged cells, they will normally remain merged in the copy. The
only thing you will have to manually alter is the row heights AFAIK.

You have run afoul of the "Merged Cells" dilemma. The merged cells
feature of Excel comes with a lot of baggage, all of it bad. The best
advice to give you is to avoid merging cells no matter what. Look in Help
under "Center across selection." It achieves the same appearance without
all the hassle.
I don't understand why you have all the "aligning, combining and
re-sizing the cells". The task of filling-in a form and printing repeatedly
from a group of data is a common task which Excel does well. Usually the
form is fixed and Excel simply fills it in and prints as it loops through
all the data. Post back with more detail about the problems you are having
after you have removed all the merging. HTH Otto

Is there any way of doing this? Yes. Anyway, I think by "cell sizes"
(you're not exactly describing your problem in terms of Excel), you mean the
column widths, and maybe row heights too. If you copy the entire sheet
(Ctrl-a to select), then paste to another sheet (cell A1), it will adjust
the column widths and row heights to that of the original. They won't get
loose.

Use Format - Cells - Alignment - Horizontal - Center across selection to
center stuff across multiple cells laterally. Don't use merged cells.
They're just a lot of trouble. Most responders print posts about merged
cells and line the birdcage with them.
