Agere #3 modem

Every time i turn the computer on, it comes up with new hardware to be
installed agere #3 modem and when i try to install it as directed it asks for
an installation disk. I just want to either install it or make it stop
prompting me to install it. I have limited computer knowledge. Please help
anyone!!
