Agere Systems ac97 modem

When I leave my laptop for a will it will not go into sleep mode. The message
I get is "Your computer was unable to convert to sleep mode because your
Agere System AC97 Modem diver is outdated or need to be updated." Can someone
tell me were to get the drivers or has anyone ever run into this problem. My
Laptop is only a few months old.

I had the same problem with a new laptop. After checking with tech support I
was told the problem was more than likely with a piece of older software that
was not fully compatible with Windows XP. Since I only had to "older"
software programs, I elimated them one at a time. Sure enough, the older
version of "Quicken" was causing the problem. I upgraded and my problem with
the AC97 modem driver went away. Hope this is helpful.
