sorry for the long post but i wanted to be thorough
I downloaded the full 125 MB install of SP1 a while back
and i could never get it to install because of a"pirated
version of windows. I got the issue straightened out and
i was able to install it. After that i went to Windows
update because i was sure that it replaced newer files so
i went through the updates and it needed to install some
of the updates again along with new ones. I dont know if
i am being paranoid but now after a certain number of
instances of IE v6 are opened 100% of my resources get
used.
Example. Im reading a newletter from slashdot and i
click on 3 links which pop up in new windows. they work
fine. When i close those and open 3 more the first one
will work and the next two wont and my resource usage
will shoot up. its like my internet connection has
stalled out but its just IE because when i end
iexplorer.exe from processes my computer usage goes back
to normal.
