After SP2 installation... ?

So far all that has happened is the pc would not awake from "Stand By"
for the first time; and it seems to take twice as long to start up and
shut down, as it did before SP2.

Any simple things to check on these changes? Should I disable the
Windows firewall, if I am using CA's EZ Trust[or any other firewall]?
Could that be why it is slower?

Restart in Safe Mode, do a disk clean up, defrag the drive.

Clean out your pre-fetch folder:
a.. Open C(system drive):/windows/prefetch, delete those junk and obsolete
files, reboot. It is recommended that you do this every month

Start > Run > type in: "msconfig" without quotes > startup (tab), uncheck
any unnecessary programs that might be starting up with the system and
restart.

What are all those files in there that I see and are they safe to delete???
What should I not delete in there- I dont want to delete stuff there that I
will regret later. thanks
