Hi,

After installing SP2,. I cannot upload any file to any ftp site, using
windows drag and drop - ie using browser window.

Also cannot upload more that 10 files in Dreamweaver - but this has been for
a while now, pre SP2.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

NEIL

Neil-

I have one better for ya... I can't log into an ftp site using IE after I
updated to SP2. It gives me the "Log on as" window, so I know it's making
the request to the server, and it's requesting credentials, but then I put
in a password, and it chugs for a second, then says "An error occurred
opening that folder on the FTP Server. make sure you have permission to
access that folder. Details: The connection with the server was reset"

.... and I'm logging in with Enterprise / Schema / Domain Admin rights on
that box...

Any ideas?

AHA! Found my answer...

In IE:
Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Un-check "Use Passive FTP (for firewall and
DSL modem compatibility)"
Apply > OK

And you can browse to ftp sites :)

Woohoo! -=- Go me!!

Sadly, this has not solved my problem.

Thanks for the idea, though.

I have the same problem with any ftp software and with dreamweaver, I am
trying to find the solution for this, so far the only way I am able to do it,
is disabling the firewall everytime I want to use ftp on dreamweaver, bad
idea if I have to be doing that every single day. Can some one help us

I do not use the xp firewall, but there should be a way on it to allow the
ftp from dreamweaver to access the internet. I have two suggestions that
may help. Zone Alarm has a free version of their firewall which is much
better than the xp firewall. I also use ws-ftp pro as my ftp software.
Both of these I find much easier to use and certainly have many more
options.

Good luck
