Al settings seem to be proper.... second computer from
the router/hub works just fine, but once I reinstalled XP
Pro and added SP2.. upon reboot, there's no connection.
Have latest adapter driver, and device manager says is
working properly.

I purposely did NOT enable the new firewall as my router
has one.

TIA! :)

Open TCP/IP properties of the connection. Select the Advanced button,
Options tab, TCP/IP filtering properties button. Check the Enabled
button on the TCP/IP filtering tab, then check Permit All on the
ports/protocols. This becomes Permit Only if the Windows firewall is
disabled. Thank you, Microsoft. BTW, there is no KB on this AFICS.

Thanks.. I did everything you suggested (and triple-
checked) but no change. Thre connection says I am
connected... seconds tick off, etc. just as before.

Even repaired the connection through the wizard time and
time again. had the wizard check the gateway settings..
says enabled. Any other ideas? THANKS!")

OK, Google for lspfix.exe and winsockxpfix.exe. Both will repair the
TCP/IP stack. Run in default mode.
