After restore can't access files

Because of window problems I did a restore where windows
backed up my data files to a directory MY OLD DATA-date
etc. After getting it going all looked ok until I tried
to read my files. I have a password and Admin rights. Now
I can't read my files in this backup. I have the same user
name and password as before.
