Was wondering if anybody has a fix for this.

New install of W2K Pro, IE6.0 SP1, and have installed all
the critical updates on a new computer.

As soon as I install W2K SP4, I am not able to connect to
internet. I am able to ping my gateway, DNS server, and
DHCP server. I was able to successfully release and re-
new my DHCP IP address as well. If I turn off my fireall
(Zone Alarm 4.5), still does not connect.

No Errors.
Browser detects Proxy setttings for a few seconds (little
longer than usual), then claims to be connecting to
address, but it never does. After a minute or so, the IE
message Can not display page appears.

If I uninstall the W2K SP4, I can access the internet no
problem.

Is there some setting or configuration that needs to be
done?

Cheers

Kyle

Are you by any chance running Mcafee Virus Scan v 7.0+? If so, I may have the answer

Cable modem, with a 3com Hub in-between, using IE6.0 SP1.
E-mail, Trillian, and even Mozilla fails to connect.

Have connected direct to cable modem, same effect.

Only solution I can find so far is to delete SP4.

I may try to install an older version of IE, and try it
with SP4, unless anybody else has any solutions.

Thank you
