Adware and Spyware after installing and running OneCare and Defend

I purchased, installed and am using OneCare and Defender on a PC running
Windows XP Pro. I still am receiving a message on the task bar indicating the
PC has spyware detected. ANy ideas on how to check or eliminate?

Hello Bob,

If you can, it might be useful to open the System event log, go to View,
choose Filter, and set the Source dropdown control to "WinDefend" and see
whether there are events in that log that you can relate to this
issue--perhaps ones which name the spyware involved.

If you find anything enlightening, using the cut and paste button to paste
them back here may be useful.
