Hi,
I'm in the process of building a new DC for a new domain. The server I'm
using is a fairly high-spec machine:
Dual 3Ghz CPU
2GB Memory
x2 36GB SCSI Drives
Hardware RAID
RAID1 will be used.
From reading the Microsoft white paper on how it recommends the disks are
used, it suggests if more than 1,000 users will be accessing the DC (which
they will be in my case), then to place the AD log files on a seperate
drive. At the moment I've just created a single 36GB partition (C Drive) and
installed everything on that. Are there any benefits in changing this and
creating two (or more) partitions and putting the log files on a seperate
one? I'm in very early stages of this so formatting and re-building from
scratch can be done.
If anyone has any suggestions on the ideal set up please let me know.
Thanks,
Curtis.
