Advice MP3DirectCut recording

I want to make an mp3 recording of our business meetings using mp3DirectCut.
I have connected the "line out" of our amplifier to the "line in" on our PC
sound card. The sound comes thru my PC speakers, but I do not get a dB
meter reading and nothing appears on the audio graph. Under Settings /
Configure / Devices I have set the Input device to my sound card: SoundMAX
Digital Audio. I have also tried setting it to Wave Mapper. Neither one
works. Why is mp3DirectCut not getting the sound? I thought the program
would record anything coming into the sound card. Thanks for your help. -

You have to open your recording properties window and put a check in
"LINE". Here is how. Double click the speaker icon down by the clock.
Click on options then properties. Put the dot in recording. Then put a
checkmark in everything in the lower half of that window. Then click [OK].
That will get you to the recording properties window. Then put the
checkmark in "LINE". Now your ready to record from the Line-in source.

FWIW I use MP3 Direct Cut for splitting MP3s but for actual recording (in my
case from streaming audio) I prefer CDex. If you try it, you need to select
Tools > Record from Analog Input.
