Similar to my specs on my Acer laptop. As Zeusi says the only problem may
be the graphics card. However it should still work, depending on the
graphics card model you may or may not get full Aero effects. Intel make
aero drivers for the 945 model upwards. I have the Intel 915 chipset and do
not get aero, but everything else runs fine.

As what Beck said you may or may not get full functionality out of aero. I
have a radeon 256mb pci-e card and only get the flip 3D for about
10-20minutes then it goes back to the old bog standard alt tab switch-a-roo.
Anybody can tell me why that is?

Thanks

Maybe not fully compatible drivers?
Have you checked the Ati website for newer drivers?

Unless you have a VERY good reason for going to Vista then dont bother.

Laptops often have special drivers for components like graphics, sound etc

It may be that these drivers have NOT been updated for Vista (many haven't)

You are just going to give yourself a LOAD of hassle for almost NO benefit.

One otion is to buy yourself a second hard disk for the laptop (assuming you
can swap hard disks) and play around with Vista on the second hard drive,
knwoing your can go back to your XP if anything goes wrong.

I have and IBM laptop and have 3 hard disks and can sswap them in and out
depending what I am doing.
