advancing a Custom show. Issue

B

BACA

Hello,

I have a custom show of one slide set to loop continuously as the first
title page in

my presentation.

I set a transparent Hyperlink over this entire slide, so that presenter can
click

on the looping slide and advance to the next slide (menu page/with more
hyperlinks).

Problem is when I click, it just reloops.

Advance doesn't work. cannot get out of custom show to get into presentation.

It does advance when I start presentation from slide 2 via edit mode.
(but loop is inactive)

But does not advance when starting presentation from the Custom shows dummy
slide before it.

Please help.

In much appreciation.

thank you

How do you get into the custom show? Generally, you enter a custom show
by hyperlinking to the show (not the slide). If you do that, you can set
the transparent box (be sure to set it o 99% transparent) to the Action
Setting End Show, not Next Slide (if you're in a custom show set to loop
continuously, the next slide is the next slide in the custom show, not
the next slide in the presentation, and, in this case, the next slide is
the loop back to the one and only slide in th show).

The alternative way to enter a custom show is set up the show to play
the custom show, but I don't think it will play any of the other slides
that way.

As David says you can change the "Show Slides" setting in Slide Show > Set Up
Show to start with the custom show.

If you have a button linked to "Slide 2" or whatever NOT NEXT SLIDE then it
should play the other slides outside of the custom show.

I just did a test in 2003, and this doesn't work. It does advance to the
slide outside the custom show, but when that slide is done, it goes back to
the custom show. I didn't think it would even show a slide outside the
custom show, but it did that much. But my solution isn't working either
because unless the link to the custom show has Show and Return checked, the
End Show button doesn't just end the custom show but the entire PowerPoint
show.

Great. It sounds like you have a solution. I'll have to remember that one.
Thanks.
