I see "Explorer: Internet Connected Applications" mentioned in Microsoft
AntiSpy but there isn't such an item actually displayed to use.

If you mean Microsoft Defender Beta 2:

Defender > Tools > Software Explorer > Category: Scroll & Pick > Network
Connected Programs

Or do you really mean Microsoft Anti-Spyware Beta 1?

Hmm - if it is in the help, but not in the product, it's a goof--should have
been removed from the help.

Good news, as Dave M mentions, is that "Network connected programs" is one
of the software explorers in Windows Defender (beta2), available here:
