"advanced" tab missing

Jo

I am logged onto Windows XP Pro SP1, as "Administrator",
with a password.

control panel > user accounts. There is no "advanced"
tab.

It matters not if I am using the "category" view or
the "classic" view in the control panel.

from run: userpasswords2/Advanced/Secure Logon
results in: "windows cannot
find 'userpasswords2/advanced/secure '.

Thanks for your attention to my plight.

Workgroup, no domain

The goal is for users to click on her / his username and
enter a required password.

start > run >control userpasswords2 = success. But, on
the "advanced" tab, there is a check at "users must enter
a username and password . . ."
HOWEVER, at login, on the user names appear. If I click
on the username, the boot process continues to the
desktop. No password is required.

Never mind.
I've discovered that a blank [ not the word "blank" ]
allows one to merely click on the user name.

Interesting to me, because a blank password is a valid
password, when one has the traditional NT login
interface.
