advanced setup startup screen

when i turn my computer on, i get the message, your computer was not shut
down properly etc. and i get sent to the advanced setup startup screen. Any
of the options i choose, safemode, safemode with command prompt, last know
good configuration, etc. my computer reboots and sends me back to this
screen.

i suggest to boot up with
your windows cd
and log into the recovery console.

when you get to the c prompt
run the following commands:

chkdsk

fixboot

fixmbr

then exit and boot
again the normal way...
