advanced mode backup utility

I use windows xp pro. pentium 4, 2.53 GHz, 512Mb ram. I
started the backup process of my settings to a floppy,
but cancelled after a few minutes.
Now whenever I start the backup process in advanced mode,
I get a message'windows backup utility has encountered a
problem and needs to close.We are sorry for the
inconvenience.Please tell microsoft about this
problem'(send error report).No problems in 'wizard mode'
What did I do wrong. Any suggestions (the report was sent)

The easiest way out of your problem is simply to reinstall Backup.

thanks for the reply, but how do I do that? Is it from
the xp pro cd.Not sure where to look or start.

Start with Add/Remove Programs - Add/Remove Windows Components.
