Advanced INF Install

O

osis

When and administrator logs onto a particular Windows 2000 SP3 Terminal
Server the following message appears.

Advanced INF Install
You must restart your computer before the new settings will take effect. Do
you want to restart your computer now?

Of course, this issue continues to occur after restarting. This server has
Office XP, and IE 6 SP1 with 828750 installed. I have found a few articles
(240760, 326731, 248849, 237813, 237755, 245021) but none seems to be
exactly what I'm needing.

Thanks

Hi,

The issue may be caused by that the user does not have permission for some
registry keys.

You can run the regmon to see whether the user is failed to access some
registry keys.

The regmon can be downloaded at: http://www.sysinternals.com

Again, this issue occurs when an Administrator logs on. What registry keys
would an admin not have permission to?

Hi,

First, let's try to apply the Win2k SP4 on to the server.

Try to logon the Administrator on to the Windows 2000 Terminal server
directly, not from the Terminal Session. Let's see whether this works or
the administrator still gets the same error.
