ADSL connection sharing?

Hi All,
I have a small home network of two computers. The two and an ADSL modem are
connected to a hub. The modem uses the IP 10.0.0.138, so the other computers
were configured with IP 10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.2. I made a VPN connection to
10.0.0.138 from 10.0.0.2 to get access to the internet.

Now how do I connect the other computer? I tried to make the VPN connection
as a connection sharing, but it told me that the NIC card will configured as
192.168.0.1. With this subnet I can't connect to the modem, right?

Regards,
Twanny.

Hi,

Sounds like you have a Speedtouch modem so you can do one of the
following:

1) Use the Speedtouch as the NAT (Network sharing) device. Even the
Speedtouch Home can made to do this if you look on Google. All client
machines then point to the Speedtouch as their default gateway

2) ICS will insist on the host machine having the IP address
192.168.0.1, so...

2a) Continue to use the PPTP session and ICS. Would be easy to add
another network card into your computer. Have one set to 10.0.0.2 so
its able to create the PPTP session to the router (use a straight
cross-over cable, no hub needed). Have the other network set to
192.168.0.1 with ICS - other PCs on the network will pick up
192.168.0.x addresses via DHCP from ICS

2b) Set the Speedtouch's LAN address to 192.168.0.254 (or something)
so that's it's in the same range as what ICS is going to change the
client machines too.

Kris.
