Where you get this stuff from...and how you get discount?!
I folded up my business about a year ago, but I still have contacts and I do all my brother's work here now. He works at Manchester/Liverpool Computer show nearly every weekend for a small company here in Lancashire. oh no, its err, Merseyside now.

He has worked for them for 8 years now ... I got to know the 'boss' when Nettie and I would come up for long weekend breaks ... I just tell him what I want.

Sorry Chris, first place I looked the last time you asked ... lowest spec is a 333 ... remind me on Saturday and I'll get my Ian to have a look round the show for one. :thumb:

Anyone have any idea what Socket a Cyrix 733 / 700MHz CPU is?

I have RAM, CPU, HDD, CD Drive, just need a motherboard, Case + PSU, pref, MATX and then i have a working machine.

Just can't figure what Socket this CPU is, doesn't mention it anywhere...

Its an obsolete mobile laptop attempt from Cyrix ... all in one affair, I believe. Socket 370, I think.

;)

Oh that is easy ...

MIDI ATX (400w) Case
K7S41GX (skt A)
Sempron Skt A 2400+
512Mb DDR 400

£115.00

... now that is without my 'discount' and without any haggling ... the other advantage I have ... I can get the bits on Saturday and not pay for a week or three. :D

I'm sure I can get a couple of free 'damaged' cases too. ;)
Mucks did you manage to pick up any bits at the weekend?

I though i'd replyed to this. :(

I dont think i have any parts lying around, i tend to sell them on once i am done with them......
I sold old vid card a while back and the old PSU not too long ago.

The only thing i got i can think of off the top of me head is a couple of Socket A heatsinks and flat IDE cables, and i think to be honest, ian and mucks have got that covered....:)

But i'll have a looks later.

Sorry Mucks, I thought you wanted those bits you listed so you can make up a rig, and I was going to donate the money?

yep ... but I was being polite, I was err, waiting for a PM.

The whole Adopt-a-Rig idea is a good one, but seems to have fallen on its face ... we are too few.

I'm not put off though ... Ian, my brother, and I are going to take a trip up to the 'shop' and pester "Nosh" for some 'junk' he might want to get rid of. :D
