Adobe FlashPlayer 9

Recently I was prompted to update to the latest version of FlashPlayer by a
trusted website. However, when I tried to update/install I received the error
message "You do not have access to make the required system configuration
modification. Please rerun installation from administrator account". I am
running Windows XP home edition SP2, and I'm wondering if the error is
related to any recent updates?
The only accounts on my computer belong to myself and my husband, both with
administrator status. A friend suggested trying the installation in safe mode
from the "hidden" administrator account - that didn't work either. Any other
suggestions?

Hi Carey, thanks for answering my post, but unfortunately I've already
followed all the instructions in that tech note to no avail, including
uninstalling all previous versions of Flash before trying to install Flash 9.
My problem remains: XP is telling me I am NOT a computer administrator.
Anyone else having this problem or have any other suggestions? I'm willing to
try almost anything now - this is extremely frustrating! Thanks in advance. :)

Make sure you are actually logged on as the administrator:

Thanks (again) for responding, Carey. No luck (again). As I stated in my
original post, I have already logged on as Administrator (in safe mode) - and
it did not work.

I have the same problem and I tried downloading it from the
administrators account and it still wouldn't work. It would still say
I'm not the administrator.
