internet explorer 8 and adobe flashplayer 10

Hello
since MSIE 8 is installed ( may 5th 2009) on my windows xp home version +
SP3
I cannot see movies on for instance YOUTUBE or open ecards from Hallmark .
I downloaded adobe flashplayer 10 and installed it, getting "installation
success"
But msie 8 internet options/ add-on tab shows "adobe macromedia shockwave
flash object" and a wrong version number 8.0.22.0.

So the installation of flashplayer 10 had a flaw but didnot show it
and/or msie 8 doesnot know where to find the flashplayer.

but that is my hunble analysis..., HELP

It's Adobe's fault. Flash 10 is *very* buggy. Adobe is offering a "critical update" this
week to Flash Player.

BTW, youtube is abandoning Flash because of the Flash 10 problems (videos playing too
fast, loading twice, locking up, etc). They will either use SilverLight, or HTML5.

The troubleshoot link did it for me.
Follow the steps, download uninstall prog. execute it and download
flashplayer 10 and reinstall.
thanks
