Adobe attachments open in Word

I am trying to open Adobe attachments in emails. I used to be able to do
this, but now it opens the attachenmnts in MS Word.

I have searched these pages for the answer and come to nothing...

I HAVE TRIED THE FOLLOWING:

1. Right click on icon and go to "Open With" - Adobe is NOT in the list (but
I was using it a week ago...)

2. Going to "Start", "Settings", "Control Panel" - the suggestion on these
pages was to go to Folder Options - but there IS NO SUCH OPTION! All I have
is "Accessibilty Options", "Display", "Keyboard", "Mouse" and "Sounds and
MultiMedia"

If anyone could help, I would be very greatful, as this is driving me crazy!

If you open My Computer then go to the Tools menu > Folder Options > File
Types tab. Take a look at the settings for the PDF extension. See if
anything is awry. Possibly reinstall the Acrobat Reader, if needed.
 
The only thing in the Tools Menu in My Computer is "Synchronize"...
