I am assuming I cannot run Adobe 7 with Vista. Are there free updates or
will I have to purchase Adobe 8?

Thanks,
Susan

Adobe is a company, not a product. They make several different products.
Which are you asking about? Adobe Acrobat? Adobe Reader? Something else?

I ran Adobe Reader 7 under Vista, but version 8 is free for downloading if
you want it.

I need Adobe Writer and I own verion 7. Will I have to purchase version 8
to be compatible with Vista?

Adobe won't support anything less than v8.1 on Vista and of course the
upgrade is $99 (acrobat pro version). And, AFAIK, if you want to
install Adobe anything on 64 bit systems fergetabboutit.

I installed Acrobat professional v.7.0.9 (after downloading updates)
and haven't had any problems, but I don't build full featured .pdf's
much anymore either so YMMV.

Good luck,
Markus

IIRC, it just won't work when you try using the PDF Writer printer driver.
I had to upgrade to v8.
