Adminstrator Login Window

I have my computer set up so the two users that are on
the login screen do not have adminstrator capabilities,
to get to the adminstrator login you need to get a window
to pop up to log in as the adminstrator. I can't
remember how to get that window to pop up. I do however
remember the password. Does anyone know how to get that
log in window up? Until I get in there I am without
virus protection - DANGER! Thanks, Karen )

That only brings up my task manager window, I need the window that will let me logon as the administrator.

Log off, then press Ctrl+Alt+Del twice in succession.

Try hitting ctl+alt+del two times at the login prompt.
This should bring up a traditional login screen where you
can type in the administrator name and password

OK, I did that and nothing happens. My regular logons are there, but I cant get the little window with adminstrator to come up. Any other suggestions? And thanks for the one you gave )

I don't know why your machine should behave differently than any other WinXP
machine, and I'm not likely to find out. However, you can walk around the
issue by forcing WinXP to revert to the "classic" logon screen where you can
enter the account name under which you wish to log on, rather than selecting
it from a list:

- Launch the Control Panel
- Click "User Accounts"
- Click "Change the way users log on and off"
- Untick "Welcome Screen"

Thank you SO MUCH Pegasus! That worked, once I got in I dinked around in security and fixed that problem, the thing that lets ctrl+alt+delete pop up that logon box was not defined. I am still unable to get my program installed, but I will play around some more and post another question if I'm no successfull.)~
