I just separate my computer into 2 user accounts, one for
me as the administrator and the other for the kids as
limited user.

I attempted to perform a disk defrag and it stated that I
must have administrator status..... but I'm the
administrator and I was logged on as the administrator. I
attempted other functions such as delete a program and I
got the same message "you need administrator privilages
to perform this task".

Whats happening and how can I fix this?

Im getting the EXACT same problem..
I have four different administrator accounts set up and ALL of them seem corupted..
I can delete and edit things, i just cant install software (iKernel.exe error) or remove items from the ADD/REMOVE list
I think a virus may have corrupted my priviliages..

ANY ADVISE?

Hi!
Something to remember about Administrator accounts is their settings are
system wide. Running more than one Administrator account with different
setting is going to create constant conflict. A good test of this is if you
spend much of your computer time looking at your screen and saying ??What??.
I had that problem until it finally dawned on what was going on. I finally
just created a dummy account to park the Administrator Privileges and
transfer them to another account as needed. Or try to make sure all the
Account's settings are the same. I can't find any where it says to do so,
but your computer has to be restarted for the Account type change to take
affect. Lots of luck.
