Administrators cannot install local printer

I have six XP pro SP2 machines that local adminstrator accounts cannot
install local printers. The "Local printer attached to this computer" choice
is grayed out when installing a printer.

Any Suggestions?

Could be a local GPO issue... or a GPO link to the OU for those PCs
(if they are in an OU and not a container) or check to make sure that
the users are actually members of the local admin group. I like using
RSoP.msc when checking GPOs..
