My Administrator disappeared. The way that I log in is
different also, there are icons.

Does anyone know how to get administrator back?

At the Welcome screen press CTRL-ALT-DEL twice, that will get you the
login box you are used to. Then go to Control Panel, User Accounts and
click on "Change the way users log on or off" and uncheck "Use Welcome
the Screen."

Hi!
By default , the Administrator account is hidden in normal mode.If you
have xp Home boot to safe mode and login.
If you have Pro, from the Welcome screen, press ctrl-Alt-Delete Twice to
access Admin/a/c

You cannot login as administrator in normal mode although you can login
as an Administartive user having the priviledges
of Administrator but a different user name.

log in safe mode you will see Administrator as an icon there to Log on

you can click on it to log on (If it has no password)OR you can click
on it to log on with/without a password.

The crystal ball's a little cloudy right now. Are you saying you used to
log in by typing your name and password and now you have to click an
icon with your name? If this is what you're saying (and if it isn't, I
have *no* idea what you really are asking), then log in, go to Control
Panel>User Settings and change How Users Log On. Disable the Welcome
screen.

The account called Administrator is a reserve one for emergencies. If
you make any other account with Admin rights for day to day use (and you
should) then Administrator gets hidden away - you can always get it by
booting to Safe Mode (hit F8 as BIOS info goes to black to get the menu
for that) when it will appear on Welcome.

The normal means of logging in to XP is via the Welcome screen with an
icon for each user. You can change that to a dialog by going to Control
Panel - User Accounts, clicking Change way users logon, and unchecking
Welcome screen.
