Administrator w/o full priviledges

I recently had to re-install my XP-SP2 system. I have had good fortune in
restoring my applications from my own personal "Administrator Account" until
now.

I get the following msg: "You do not have access to make the required system
configuration modifications. Please rerun this installation from an -->Admin
Account<--?! I am currently signed-in on an administrator account? So what
gives? It also seems that I can only have access to the Admin Account given
when I repaired my system from -->Safe Mode<--? What am I missing. What
proceedure can I use that can get me back to a normal environment again?

Another possibility is the Permissions on the registry. Open regedt32 and
use the edit menu to set Permissions for you on the whole hive structure.

Mark, apparently my original response did not reach this forum. I wanted to
thank you for the information you provided which helped to solve my problem.
BTW: Would you know how to recover the Administrator Icon in user accounts?
Mine has disappeared. Thanks again . . .

The default "Administrator" account is taken off the Welcome screen when
another admin is created for the system. It will appear if you boot to Safe
Mode. There is reg hack to make it show, also.
