Administrator settings

Recently my computer has stopped letting me do certain functions such as
using command prompt or task manager as it says it has been disabled by
administrator. the problem is im the administrator and dont know how i did
this or how to fix it. I am the only user, it is an advent travelmate 230
laptop using windows XP. Any help would be much appreciated. i

This is one of the symptoms of malware. Are you up to date on virus
scans and spyware scans?
