Someone has changed my administrator password and I can only log in as a
limited user. Does anyone know how I can get aroun this??
Hopefully you are not referring to the Hidden Administrator's account.
Because then you are in more serious trouble.
The Hidden Administrator's account can be accessed from Safe Mode. To enter
Safe Mode reboot the system and tapping the F8 key as the BIOS info passes
by. You should see a Welcome screen with an icon for Administrator, click
on it. If a password was never set for this account you will be allowed in
leaving the password blank.
Now click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type the following command, and then click OK:
control userpasswords2
Click the user account that you forgot the password for, and then click
Reset Password.
Type a new password in both the 'New password' and the 'Confirm new
password boxes', and then click OK.
