your administrator. i have an internet optimizer which edits certain entrys
in the registry which i could use before yet since i formatted my computer
and loaded vista fresh i cant use it because i dont have permission to edit

If you have User Account Control turned on, you should be prompted to
elevate the program to administrator privileges when the program starts. If
this does not happen, the program may not be completely compatible with
Vista. To resolve this problem, when you start the program you need to right
click the programs shortcut and select the 'Run As Administrator' option.
You can bypass the right click requirement by right clicking the programs
shortcut, selecting Properties/Advanced Button, and placing a check mark in
the Run As Administrator option.

Remember that although you have an administrator account, the account still
runs as a Standard User until you specifically OK a procedure to use your
administrator privileges.
