administrator permissions

On my computer that is wirelessly connected to my router on my home
network, when I try to delete software in add/remove programs (XP) I
get a message saying I don't have administrator permissions. I have
tried logging off and relogging on with either the administrator login
or the other name I created for the computer and no luck.
How do I gain "administrator permissions" to gain access to add/remove
programs (or other blocked functions) on this computer. On the other
computer that is plugged via ethernet to the router there are no such
problems.

Are you trying to delete software directly on that computer or over the
network?
