My daughter needs help!!! I don't know XP very well, but
I do know where to get help...lol....here!!!! She now has
to logon to her computer for it to load. She did NOT set
up a password to do this. XP has generated it. What can
she do, without having to reformat the hard drive???? Is
there a repair or reinstall tool? If so, how is it done?

Thank you so much for your help!!! It will be greatly
appreciated.

Windows XP does not automatically generate passwords.

What is the ASP.NET Machine Account?

XP or any other Microsoft OS doesn't generate a password
for you, you had to have created it. But the problem is
more likely the user name...try to log on using the
username administrator and don't put in any password, let
me know if that works.

I know it is not suppose to. MY daughter built her
computer and it has run great for a couple of years now.
She was trying to set up on *in house* small network when
the administrator logon popped up requesting a password.
She has never set one. Thank you for these new possible
solutions.....you are great!!!!!

Thank you again....so much!!!

Use the "Tab" key and tab through the password request and hit "enter".

she has a user logon as well. There is now a password on
that one, too. She did not set it. Neither of us are
computer dummies...lol...but we don't know how the
passwords got there. It was not there on log off one day,
and it WAS there on logon the next day. :)

I will have her try that...she is suppose to call me at
noon. Thank you. I will let you know if that works.
