I have someone here who said he can not log into a new workstation with the
admin account. Whether it be the local or domain. Any suggestions on how to
get into the computer? He cant get in by any other means? Its a new
computer too. He blames it on the recent Windows updates he installed, but
Im not sure. Any help would be great.

Since you mention "domain", his machine must be in a work
environment. If so then he should ask his network administrator
to assist him. Breaking into a machine behind the administrator's
back might cause more problems than it solves.

Believe it or not he is actaully a tech here in the office. It was a new
workstation that came in and he said he did a few W2k updates and then once
rebooted he can not log on with any account. Whether its the admin local,
domain or any other account. So we are looking for the quickest solution to
resolve this issue. Thanks.

This happened to me on my home machine on Monday when the three
latest security updates were installed.

However, I always make a back up image of my boot/system
partition before installing *anything* from MicroSoft, so I was
able to simply restore that image to get back to where I was
before that latest update.

After a few tests to confirm the reproducibility of the problem,
I found that I could avoid it be installing the 3 updates one at
a time, with reboots in between, instead of installing all 3 at
the same time. I reported this to MicroSoft but have yet to hear
back - and I doubt I ever will.
