Administrator has no administrator priveleges?

A while ago I tried installing the Microsoft Money 2005 trial. Every time I
try to do it, I get a message saying that I don't have admin rights (which I
do). So I reboot into safe mode to pull up the admin account and install it.
Same error. I then unhide the admin account in the registry so I can log
onto it when not in safe mode... same error.

Just this evening I tried installing an add-in for Office 2003 and get a
message saying the windows installer package is invalid. I try to change it
in the Add/Remove Programs wizard, same error. So I run office update and
get an error. One of the explanations for the error is that I don't have
admin rights.

Now, I do have admin rights. I can run windows update fine. I've checked
the user account settings and I'm listed as an admin. I can't seem to find
any answer to this on the web.

Try to download the newest version from the Windows Update Catalog.

Probably you, using your admin priveleges, broke something
in the system. For example, disabled to yourself access to some files or registry keys.
