I cant find the administrator account, and cant install anything onto my computer. How do I find it, and get rid of it?

Hello,
The built-in Administrator account is hidden from Welcome Screen.
In Windows XP Home Edition, you can login as built-in Administrator in
Safe Mode only.
For XP Professional, press CTRL+ALT+DEL twice and input your
Administrator password in the classic logon window that appears.

You do NOT want to get rid of it and as a matter of fact you CAN'T delete
the System Admin. If this is your system, give your profile admin
privileges.

If these are admin errors on certain installs, this is common and there are
some workarounds. More detail needed. Good luck!

Can you advise please. CTRL+ALT+DEL twice when, where? I've tried this and
it doesnt work and I've had to disable the welcome screen to be able to log
on. XP Pro SP1. Many thanks, appreciate it. Shaun

The usual place to Ctl-Alt-Del is AT the welcome screen. You have two
options. Either re-enable the Welcome screen, or boot into Safe Mode.

BTW, you canNOT delete "The Administrator" account.

The Administrator account is one of that name, which is available when
you boot to Safe Mode and should be reserved for emergencies. Do *not*
try to get rid of it. Programs should install in a user account
provided that has Admin status; if you run into an ill behaved one that
insists on the account called Administrator, boot, hitting F8 as BIOS
info goes to black, and take Safe mode. Administrator will be on the
Welcome screen. Use it to install, then reboot to a normal account
