ADMIN - TASK MANAGER

L

Larry

XP pro user
For some reason my administrator settings have changed.
If i attempt to soft boot the messgae comes up that the
task manager has been disbaled by the administrator. Also
on the program selection on start there is no longer an
option to turn off the pc only to log off!
I tried system restore but this simply hangs and will not
restore to an earlier time.
I have tried re-boot F*8 and selected last user
configurtaion that worked but this puts me in the same
poistion.
Any solutions?????

To enable Taskmanager
Start|Run|regedit|H_KEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\
Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\DisableTskmgr = data must be blank

To enable turn off button
Start|Run|Gpedit.msc|Machine Configuration|Windows Configuration|Security
Configuration|Local Directives|Assign Users Rights|Shut Down the System
Properties|Add user
(As default all directives are not configured).

System Restore
Start|Run|Gpedit|Machine Configuration|Administrative
Templates|System|System Restore|Directives Not Configured

or Start|Run|regedit|HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE| SOFTWARE|Microsoft|Windows
NT|Current Version|System Restore|DisableSR|value 0

If no success yet, look for script fixes in :

Good Luck
