Using Win XP Home Edition I face the following problem:
there are 2 users on my PC, both of them have got Admin-
Rights. The problem: One of them is not allowed to create,
remove or even rename documents or folders (in Windows
Explorer).

I tried to find out, where to change the settings for
users, but could only find "Admin"- or "Guest"-rights. But
nothing, where I could change rights for special users (or
reset any changes done).

What could I do?

Kr,
Thomas

I want to know the exact same issue. I'm struggling with
not being able to delete a sub-folder in Windows
Explorer. It gives me an error message that says "Make
sure the files aren't write protected or aren't in use."
When i went up to another users group i found that people
with XP Pro can go to My Computer / Tools pull down
menu / Folder Options / View / scroll all the way down to
the bottom and 'un-check' a button that reads "Use simple
file sharing." If you apply this...you will then be able
to go to any folder and 'right-click' on it to see
a 'security' tab at the top which allows you to change
your user preferences to include 'Everyone' or 'All.'

Is this totally not an option for XP Home users?

Please...someone respond. :)

If I'm not mistaken, you can boot into Safe Mode, log on as Admin, and
the "Security" tab will be available in the Properties window. Hopefully
this can help you fix your problem.
