Admin - but cannot Disable System Restore

Hi all,

Need Help.

I need to disable System Restore - so I can get rid of a couple of hijacks
that I have, however, even though I am the only user account on my pc and i
am assigned admin rights, I cannot see the System Restore tab on System
Properties dialog box......

Are you running XP Pro or XP Home?

In either case, click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\SystemRestore

Look in the right pane for a value called DisableSR. If it exists, double click it and set its value to 0 (zero). If it doesn't exist, right click in a blank area of the right pane, select New, DWord value. Name the new value DisableSR and leave it at 0.

You'll also want to look for the DisableConfig value in the same subkey. If found, it should be set to 0 to allow configuration of the System Restore options.
